Hurricane Sally 2020
The eye of Hurricane Sally made landfall as a drenching, Category 2 storm near Gulf Shores, Alabama, the National Hurricane Center said. The hurricane intensified to a Category 2 storm early Wednesday and is expected to bring heavy rains and "Historic life-threatening flooding" from southeastern Louisiana to Florida's Panhandle. Ref. Downgraded to a tropical depression Wednesday, Sally's strong winds battered Alabama and Florida as the center moved over the Panhandle. In Pensacola, Florida, a section of the Pensacola Bay Bridge collapsed, and downtown was largely underwater.
