Bob Gibson

Hall of Fame MLB pitcher Bob Gibson dies at 84 after a bout with pancreatic cancer. Gibson was an MVP, two-time Cy Young Award winner and two-time World Series champion during a 17-year career with the St. Louis Cardinals. He died on the 52nd anniversary of perhaps his greatest game: a 17-strikeout shutout in Game 1 of the 1968 World Series. Ref. USAToday.
