The effected vehicles are SUV's from 2003-2005, about 1.8 million vehicles. I don't consider a few minor injuries among 1.8 million vehicles to be a major problem. Do auto manufacturers go to far in recalling vehicles now? Its almost like things get recalled for every little thing now.

Actually, we don't have any choice in the matter. Even slight injuries can end up in millions of dollars going out in lawsuits. There is no protection whatsoever for manufacturers, other than to immediately have a recall.
That is why we hear about recalls for possibly defective lamp bulbs and other very minor items.
