Capt. Tom Moore, UK veteran who walked into the hearts of a nation in lockdown, dies after testing positive for COVID-19. Moore's family announced his death Tuesday in a tweet with his photo, noting that his death was in 2021. He was 100. Captain Tom, as he became known in newspaper headlines and TV interviews, initially set out to raise about $1,250 for Britain's National Health Service NHS Charities Together.
