The military sucks because your on the job for 24/7 and if you figure it out on your pay your getting paid a very low wage. Beside they only pay you #140 a month to get shot at. Hello!

The retirement plan is poor and who really likes to get shot at? They do not look after their vets well enough if they are injured in duty.

It sucks because while you do get some free clothing it looks funny to be walking around in a urban area with camouflage on. Makes one really stand out in a crowd. I guess a bunch could get together in a open area and pretend to be bushes.

I really don't like this question, because I don't think the US military sucks.

However I guess there are certain aspects of it that weren't that great. Sleep deprivation, getting shot at, stress, and demanding physical requirements to name a few.

Of course there were a lot of good things that offset those sucky aspects.

If you don't like the question then come next election SAVE America and vote for the kind of person that will take the "SUCK" out of the military and bring our boys home.

I do not think the US military sucks as a whole it is just some parts of it that sucks. It is those parts that I as a veteran likes to make and poke fun at.

Comments: Um, just so you know, the pay is a lot better than $140 a month. It's not as if it's some high paying job, but $140 a month? That's ridiculous.

My husband's base pay (before all the added benefits like COLA,etc.) is $1,600. Not to mention they provide us with housing and and consequently we don't have to pay for things like water, electric, and garbage. Given the current state of the economy and the likelihood that the majority of naysayers to the military are or will be financially [expletive] in the near future, I'd say that that beats civilian conditions.

And guess what- it's not like these people don't know about the possibility of deployments, ie. Being "shot at" when they sign up.
