Someone on social media felt that most people know they are eating an animal but I tend to disagree. The industry that sells animal products paints a picture like if you are eating something different. You are not eating a cow you are eating beef. You are not eating a pig you are eating pork and so on. Psychology euphemisms is an industry tool to make people buy in that is why marketing is a specific study.

Unless you're a butcher I do not think most people would eat meat if they had to catch and kill the animal for themself. It is very convenient when a factory does all the gory work for you.
