Wow, 100 people? I wonder if is because this Hurricane is really dangerous or is it that Haiti's living conditions are so poor that people don't have proper housing to use as protection.

The US is certainly taking a hammering, but not worst than what the Haitians have experienced. People are just dying in the streets and forced to drink dirty water to survive.

It is sad that the people have no way to get drinkable water. We know these storms are coming from a long way off yet year after year storm after storm.
Is there no way for these people to have a place set up to take haven in while the storms pass and the waters reside? Or does the government just not care.

One of the amazing things about hurricane Ike is the share size of it. Right now it is going over Texas and from what I see on the weather map is about the same size as Texas itself! That leaves a really big area to do damage.
