A privately-owned company launched a rocket into orbit early this morning in a demonstration flight that NASA hopes could be used to deliver cargo to the International Space Station. Ref. Source 6

So a private company now has space travel. I find it interesting that NASA is thinking about hiring a private company to help send supplies to the international space station.

It is very interesting but I guess it is an advancement in the space exploration and transport aspect of life.

As history shows people are always looking to make money somehow. But if this is the case it may allow NASA to invest more into exploration etc rather than running costs for what they already have in place.

Private company SpaceX aborts launch of rocket that would have carried capsule to International Space Station.

The launch countdown reached zero, but the rocket failed to lift off at Cape Canaveral, Florida.

That's too bad it would of been totally cool to see more than just NASA going into space and making things happen out there. Maybe they will get their rocket sorted and move on from this.

SpaceX successfully launches the first private spacecraft to head to the International Space Station.

The company's Falcon 9 rocket holds the Dragon capsule, which NASA and SpaceX hope will dock at the station where the crew will pull food, water and other provisions from the capsule.

Its initial launch was halted early Saturday when a flight computer detected "high pressure in the engine 5 combustion chamber," according to the company. Ref. CNN
