Sufi Mysticism & Islam
Is Sufi Mysticism & Islam related, the same or different?
Sufi mysticism, as a distinct vein of Islam, tends to be looked down upon because it stays away from sectarian and partisan views about man and his relation to the universe, his creator and his own sense of jihad (personal conflicts having nothing to do with an external objector objectivation of such).
Interestingly, Sufism has taken roots over the centuries in non Arab locations (Turkey, some parts of Pakistan and areas where the inhabitants were pre-Islamic but conversion and isolated climes tended to make Sufism a part of the natural order!
