Couple arrested in alleged scheme to launder billions in stolen cryptocurrency, DOJ seizes $3.6B linked to 2016 currency exchange hack. Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco said Ilya Lichtenstein, 34, and wife Heather Morgan, 31, “laundered stolen funds through a labyrinth of cryptocurrency transactions.” The digital currency was stolen during the 2016 hack of a virtual currency exchange that is now worth a whopping $4.5 billion.
