Prince Charles To Marry Lover Camilla Parker
No...I am not surprised. They have been in love with each other from before he married the Princess Diana... but the relationship was not accepted by the mother of the Queen of England because Camilla is divorced. Diana, who was Charles's wife, said on a television interview she (Camilla) was the reason for their marriage failure. "There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded." Yes, he is getting married the same woman he cheated his wife with

LONDON, England (CNN) -- Britain's Prince Charles is to marry his long-term lover, Camilla Parker Bowles, Buckingham Palace said. A statement on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II said: "The Duke of Edinburgh and I are very happy that The Prince of Wales and Mrs. Parker Bowles are to marry. We have given them our warmest good wishes for their future together." Charles said he and his wife-to-be were "absolutely delighted" at their engagement. The wedding will be a civil ceremony in Windsor Castle on April 8 followed by a service of prayer and dedication in St George's Chapel at which the Archbishop of Canterbury will preside. Parker Bowles will be given the title of Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall. When Charles becomes King, Camilla will not be known as Queen Camilla but as the Princess Consort, Charles' office, Clarence House said. The announcement, four days before St. Valentine's Day, came as a surprise. Prince Charles' love life had been the cause of much speculation in Britain since the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, in a Paris car crash in 1997... Read More |

I believe Camilla earn her right to marry Charles by being so patient and supportive. |

It is interesting to note that before Charles could marry her he had to get permission from parliament. They agreed to support him on the grounds that she would never be made Queen. Since he has Blair's approval and the rest of MPs, we have to see how the citizenry (subjects) reacts.

While I realize that Charles was in love with Camilla for a long time, if I were in his position I would have never remarried, just because of the shame and guilt I would feel from Diana's death. I am glad that there is an agreement that Camilla can never be Queen because that would not be fair, and I hope that this relationship works out better for Charles than the one he had with Diana.

At the time of Diana's death I really didn't think very highly of Charles, but my opinion has changed with time. Both Charles and Diana had affairs. It was wrong of both of them. In fact, it is possible Charles is more accountable because he married a very young girl and still continued his relationship with Camilla the entire time. He used Diana as means to produce heirs and do his duty to the throne. Yet, he was doing exactly what he had been raised to do. It has been widely reported that he didn't really want to marry Diana, but his father pretty much told him to "suck it up and do what was right and necessary in his position as heir to the throne." Not a quote, just a paraphrase.
Anyway, since Diana's death, I think Charles has really shown he is not such a bad person entirely. He has done very well by his sons. He has given them the love and nurturing they need, from what I can see. I was afraid they wouldn't get that without Diana in the picture. I believe he has been a good father and has done his best to raise his sons well.
Even though the relationship with Camilla during his marriage and hers was wrong, I think they both deserve a chance at happiness. I hope they find it together.

I say good for them. It works out for all in the end. Charles gets Camilla. Camilla gets Charles. Whales will still only have Princess Diana as Camilla will take the Dutchess of Cornwall title. Shows respect for the memory of Diana, so the British people are happy on both sides of the coin. The kids, while I am sure arent the greatest fans of Camilla, get to see their father stop living a continuous lie. It probably will be nice that Charles will not be escorting Mistress Bowles to functions now. The Queen gets to keep the Monarchy clean by making sure that Camilla doesnt become queen.
Seems like a happy ending,
Vincenzo
