Greetings,
It is a pleasure meeting the community. I am a long-time gamer at heart, it all begain with Avalon Hill in early 70s-80s and evolved into Basic Dungeons & Dragons and then MUDs, in the 90s to EverQuest in the 2000s. Gaming has been a huge foundational component to my learning of the world to date. Thank you, Sid Miers Civilization, Total War Series & Paradox Hearts of Iron games!
I clearly remember the excitement that unfolded while reading the Basic Dungeons & Dragons Rules Book while sitting in the shade during school 5th grade recess in the1970s. Dungeons & Dragons taught me how to conceptualize fictious world's and interact with living-creatures and stories. Reading Dungeons & Dragons manuals along with watching Gene Rodenberry's Star Trek the Original Series re-runs really helped stimulate my young creative-mind!
Fast forward to 2021, I have fun thinking about creating a world utilizing Call of Cthulhu's traumatic experiences concepts to enhance a role-playing character's development and skills. I am looking for another resource, such as Ruler of Kings framework to role-play and experience new ideas for character and world-development.
Thank you,
Iron John.
Welcome adventurer. The current RPG in this Community is Ruler of Kings II which is a custom text based RPG and while similar to Dungeons & Dragons it is an independent and self-regulating role-playing system. I dare say, for the purpose of solo online entertainment while still maintaining a detailed character and imaginative development you will find that ROK II is far more diverse and engaging as a text RPG.
