The authoritarian grip that the Chinese government has over its citizens and the nation as a whole, its control over the internet and on information, its surveillance and the pack of privacy that citizens have in China has terrified and concerned me for a while. Even if many are using VPNs to bypass government censorship and access the wider web of the internet (Even if I suspect there are still risks).
So the consideration that China now has the AI technology capable of monitoring "The minds of dozens of Communist party officials" is alarming, which I can imagine will be terrifying. Now, not only citizens but party officials as well. In addition to using "Big data, machine learning, face recognition technology and artificial intelligence" for monitoring and to keep its authoritarian control.
