USA vs. North Korea

Seems like Pres. Bush can never get a minute of peace. Everyone wants to 'test' the USA and the rest of the world for that matter.

What do you think about the recent N.Koreans decision to start nuclear development again? Are they just doing it to get electricity as they say, or is it to build bombs?

I don't know really. Wasn't Bush in Korea last week with his wife?. I didn't see him very strong about it, he said that he believes that diplomatic meetings will help this situations, oh well, he could not say anything else because he was there and don't want trouble while he's there. smile.gif I don't know really, you never know what can happen. I'm just afraid that a country get fed up with the US and their policies and try to use one of those nuclear weapons in the world.

N.Korea is not a pushover. The N.Koreans seem to be very strong in the warfront and cannot be so easily 'pushed' around as the US is doing with Iraq. It will be interesting to see how they handle this one. Of course they have to act in a timely manner since it is only a matter of some weeks before they can produce nuclear weapons.

- Sir, are we ready for the Nuke test?

- Yes, the USA is too busy trying to look for Saddam's guilt.

- Ok we are all go sir, the nukes will be armed in a month

- That is good soldier, now we will be able to make that big bright light like a mushroom so we can see where we are going late at night.

Ironic Isn't it?

In a recent poll conducted in the UK the question was asked:

"Which country is the biggest threat to peace?"

The answer based on highest percentage:

  USA - 32%

  N. Korea - 27%

  Iraq - 23%

In the world's eyes the USA is looking more and more like a warmonger.

Pres Bush is taking the world to the edge. An edge which it has never been so close before for the last half century. This US govt may do something that may trigger a third world war. And it may not be a war that can be terminated just by the surrender of a nation. Not when compounded by the threat of terrorism.

US is not fighting to protect its own soil. All others especially the Third World is just trying to do that. US is fighting to protect its own (and vast) interests. What if a small nation like Trinidad and Tobago  ;) says it is interested in some of the oilfields in Texas and sents its troops there and take control of the Lone Star. What will the US govt do? Fight will all its might or just roll over and play dead? It will never happen, of course.

Now, think likewise for Iraq. What would Bush do, if he is President of Iraq, not of US, and he is faced with an attack from unfriendly forces?

True. Recently I was looking at how the US fights its battles. Before 1990 it was basically the common conventional way of sending in troops. After 1990 it was mostly bombing. If you bomb them so much then they just give up. Bush senior did this in the Gulf War, Bush Jr. is doing it in Afghanastan and no doubt in Iraq too. However, this war tatic is not always going to give victory to an enemy that moves among civilians as a terrorist. How is he going to cope with the after effect is what I am more concerned about. Sadly, the world's economy is so interknit that if the US goes into trouble then the whole world is effected.
[offtopic]wink.gif Nice example about Trinidad, doubt we could even war with ourselves futhermore another country.[/offtopic]

Let's think about this... Is the USA afraid of N. Korea? I mean lets think about it vs. Iraq. They are ready to attack Iraq, but Iraq says it has no weapons of mass destruction, neither can the inspectors find it, but N. Korea openy admits getting ready for Nuclear power and now the US does this;
