They thought that the start of this experiment could have lead to the destruction of life here on this planet. This is a reason why we need to come together and get us off this planet so we as a race can survive a planet wide destruction.

That is the problem with us we just do not know when to say enough is enough our thirst for knows knows no bonds an is always thirsty. I think this will led to our new energy source or a large death toll.

I actually watched with interest the opening of this "black hole maker". We were assured that nothing of this magnitude would happen and that it was vital for a leap forward in particle physics. Whilst complicated I enjoyed the programmes centered around it and understood that while we have a missing piece of the puzzle we will never fully understand how and why, and if it does prove to be the undoing of the world I guess it is just a little worse than the discovery of the petrol engine, CFC gasses and the nuclear bomb.
