This is definitely a novel approach. I doubt it will work with everyone but there are some who will love to cook and enjoy making healthy snacks rather than eating prepackaged junk food. Children eat healthier if they can participate in the preparation. My grandkids love to help in the kitchen and they are very healthy eaters. They often will choose broccoli or cucumbers over candy.
I agree as well. They are like us, if it is easy and already prepared they are more likely to grab it. BUT if they help prepare it and especially if they love cooking they are more apt to eat more healthy. My son came home from his friends house announcing he loved broccoli--I remember thinking, "Do you know who your mother is?" but they made it with some cheese on top and he ate every bit.
Not so much !
Actually I don't know because I didn't do a lot of cooking when I was young so it is hard to say. I know we have made some really cute things like "ants on a log" or little veggie people. I actually DO like fresh vegetables more...I think it is the texture I don't like about cooked ones.
