No, not a gas.
I am closest to a solid form. But usually one would just look at me rather than touch me. But I suppose some do touch when they see me.
No I am not liquid.

**Think of the time frame I first appeared. I was certainly more rampant then and for the next ensuing years. Over time I have become less popular but you still see me showing up all over.

No. I can turn up at anytime, almost anywhere. Sometimes in the most unexpected places. Always due to an action by human hands.
