Here is my guess--it is 2 dimensions because there is depth? He is drawn to look like he is behind a wall, well except for that nose! !

OK one dimension means that there is only one measurement. a example of this is a line since it has no other measurement

Two dimensions is a object that is drawn like a picture since it has length and width.

Three dimensions has the added depth. the would be a object on a desk. You have a measurement of length, width and depth.

a flat object has length and width in drafting we call it a 2d drawing. To get 3d or the third dimension you add depth. A single dimension is just one of those aspects I stumble on trying to define on besides time. Time is considered the fourth dimension.
