Words Of The Book Which Were Sealed

In reading this scripture here the other day, I started to think about the sealed portion of the BoM which was not translated. When will we receive it? Or are we in fact receiving it bit by bit, given to us at general conferences? Conferences are indeed transmitted to us upon the house tops through satellite transmission.

What are your thoughts?

what a marvelous interpretation. I never would have thought about the satellites in that way. But I always imagined we would know when the sealed portion will be unlocked and they'll be added to our scriptures. And I thought the quads were thick now.
I'm sure some one will be able to give you a much better insight.

I don't think that there is the slightest chance that any of the sealed portion of the Book of Mormon is being revealed to the membership, especially not in General Conference.

We have less of the ordinances, less of the teachings, doctrines, and principles that the Church had in the 1800s, under Brigham Young. Apparently we are unworthy to live these principles and doctrines. In fact, our current General Authorities frequently tell us that Brigham Young, Heber C. Kimball, and John Taylor were either mistaken in their teachings, or that they were teaching false doctrine. So, if we are learning LESS now in General Conference, then how could we think that we are learning MORE?

"The day cometh" many times means after the second coming of Christ, from what I understand, as in "the Lord's day" or "the great and terrible day of the Lord" where the scriptures will then say "and in that day" etc. So I don't believe that we are receiving anything right now that is supposed to be sealed until "that day." The fact that these sealed scriptures will be read by the power of Christ is a strong message to my mind that these things will not be made known lightly.

Also, I agree with Nighthawk that we haven't really received anything that could be considered "sealed" during General Conference - at least not lately. While many of the presentations given are very spiritual and detailed and moving, most of what is currently given is reiteration of previously stated admonishments and doctrine, stated to be easily understood by "even the weakest" of the saints.

Reading "upon the housetops" is just a figure of speech that these things will be made known publicly, widely disseminated for all to hear and have access.

All in my opinion, of course.

I am not worried about the church knowing the mysteries, as much as the basics right now... Most don't even read the scriptures they have. Those of us who do feel like odd balls in church because we talk about the scriptures and often contradict the common teachings. The church is not ready for the sealed portion of the book. Those who are don't need it. The doctrine of the priesthood will rest on you like the dews from heaven...

We are not limited in our progression except by ourselves. If any man lack wisdom, let him ask of God, not wait for more scripture to be ratified and added to the cannon.

Seems to indicate that the "power of God" refers to angelic visitation. After all, the angel told Joseph,

I have never heard this before. Where can I find a transcript of general authorities saying this and which teachings they're referring to. It seems strange to me given that within the past few years we have had relief society/priesthood lesson manuals from Brigham Young and John Taylor's teachings.
