It is an interesting thought however flawed it may be. What makes a person "emotionally suited to politics?" Why would a woman be any less suited than a man? Who do they think raised the men who have excelled in politics? While many stereotypes paint women as weak, emotionally unstable creatures studies have shown that they are actually the stronger sex when it comes to emotional strength and are often more resilient. Women have far fewer suicide attempts than men. In the psych hospital where I work male patients outnumber female patients 2/1. Does any of this have relevance as to who makes the better politician. Maybe. Maybe not.

Relax, it is alright. Think about the ocean. Stabilize your emotions.

Imagine talking to Palin like this every time she was feeling "emotional" with her finger over the Nuke button?

Jokes aside, I think it has more to do with a persons ethics and morals that make them a good leader. In that case it doesn't matter.

If it was a war I would personally rather have a man leading it. Everything else I keep an open mind to.

By the way division is what they want. And they have done a dandy job here. Divide and conquer anyone? Women against men, men against women? Who do you all think started all this crap?

Here is the real question. Do you think that my joke in off topics is sexist? Why?

Why is this even a gender issue? Are men better suited to bear children? The answer is obvious, that is the physical make up of women and it belongs to them. Does leading belong to men? There isn't anything physical about that unless you're ruling by muscle. In this world charisma plays better with people more than if you canm grow a mustache.

Rather off topic, but...
All of this stuff makes me sick too. I go to my Mom's house here and there. She got into the professional world when I was young (back when it was harder). She got in the women's movement. Well, my dad was kind of an @ss, but that is another story.

She is older and wiser now. She doesn't hang her educational certificates on the wall. No useless paper adorns her walls. She has hundreds of pictures of her kids and grandchildren all over the place. She pats me on the cheek and asks when I will have some grandchildren for her. That is the only person that can pat me on the cheeks. She still fixes my hair to and cooks me something. It is frustrating, besides cooking me something. Then she complains about my awkward sized shoulders. I don't even want to think about that. I hear the complaints on the pregnancy issue all the time from her. I could go on and on, but of corse I love my mother. She was a fighter and that rubbed off on me. I would get it tattooed if I believe in tattoos. She is an Educational expert and yet my education is poor. No fault of her own. She did try very hard. Maybe it isn't so bad. Maybe it is because of her. She did raise me. If it were not for her I would be typing everything backwards.

I pulled someone out of a burning car last year. Everyone else ran off. No kidding. It sounds funny, but it is true. I thought I was going to burn. Of course I gave my mother credit for this. I have done other things that have been good and many foolish things (like a young man does).

My mother instilled the ethics and morals that have given me a good foundation. I have gone back to this after all of the foolish actions that I have taken in my life. They are still there. I am still immature and childish and she tells me. I would say to women (if they would listen) to have charity to the ones that are closest to you. I don't really have any complaints on this issue.

My point is that we have lost sight of what has value. At the end of our lives what is worth something. Is it our status? Is it the money we make? According to my mother's actions, it is life.

Why is this even a question?

What is all this crap that separates us? It has no real value.

Very true. And their ability to stand up for what is right in spite of pressure to do otherwise. Red Sonja made some EXCELLENT points in her post.

Why? Women can be excellent strategists and, when necessary, a heck of a lot more cutthroat than any man. I suppose I am curious as to what you think the necessary qualities are for any person to lead a war.

And to answer the REAL question:

Yes, of course. That is how you intended it.

The reality is that if women were in charge there would be fewer wars due to less raging testosterone running rampant. (Now, was THAT sexist?) wink.gif

It depends what side of the isle you are coming from. I loved Margaret Thatcher when I was a Kid, and some Democrats like Hillary Clinton. There are women champions on both sides that have something to offer.

If I had to fight a War, Margaret Thatcher of the 1980'a would have been my choice, hands down. She did not back down when it came to standing up for what she believed in.

I would also bet that Palin could fight a war if she had to (at least she could be an infantryman.) I am sure she would if only to protect her children. I believe any woman would fight for there Families and if they brought that same fight to politics then there is no man that could equal her in grit.

Just a personal preference that is not going to change. It takes more than just strategy to lead. I would much rather see a dude that was 6 foot and 200 lbs giving a speech and leading a conflict than a 5 foot squirrely looking female. The more stubborn and uglier the better. Maybe it is a confidence issue.

Unless of coarse it was a joan of arc type, or the Deborah type out of the bible. Both claimed to receive revelation from god, and I am certain that was the case. In other words they would have to be of the prophetic variety not a feminist.

I don't know if any of you have looked around, but women do run a lot of things now. The households that are run primarily by the women power type are just as bad and in many cases worse than the ones run by macho men. Sons that have only the mother raising them are more likely to be criminals. Look at all the sex Offenders. Look at the murderer's childhood.

I have personally worked for many women and have to say that they spend most of the time trying to prove that they are better and are completely fixated on feminism and there power over man. That is kind of hard to do in the construction industry. I would be so bold as to say that 3 out of 4 are practically intolerable (the ones that are in charge and not the regular ones). Where as I would say that 1 out of 10 men are intolerable. I blame society for a lot of this. That is just what I have seen in the construction field. Some of them are cool and make good managers (moral base) the others can kiss it.

And you want to talk about sexual harassment. The women are worse than men now. I have been propositioned many times, or else. It sounds funny. I laugh about it, but the truth is that there are some nasty women out there with a lot of time on there hands that abuse their power. If you do reject them then they spend there time trying to cut your throat as you mentioned before.

I think that it was really tough for women 100 maybe even 30 years ago, but it seams that there is a reversal of many things now.

When I express my reasonable concerns about this I am targeted as an "enemy".

You all believe what you like. I don't think it would be a better place if women were in charge. It would just be a different kind of messed up. I suppose that makes me "sexist".
