NASSAU, Bahamas (BIS): Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham announced new increases in social assistance to the poor Monday; a continuation of the Bahamas government’s stated determination to cushion the impact of international turbulence upon Bahamians, particularly those in lower income brackets.
