United Nations General Assembly votes to demand Russia halt the war in Ukraine in first emergency session in a quarter century. The U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday voted 141 to 5, with 35 abstentions, to demand Russia halt the war. "The message of the General Assembly is loud and clear. End hostilities in Ukraine now, said U.N. But the UN has not real power to make them stop other than to say it. I wonder who were the 35 that did not want to take a position.

Casualties climb on both sides in Ukraine; most major cities now under siege: Russia acknowledged that nearly 500 of its troops have been killed and around 1,600 wounded.
