Putin: Kiev, Western allies responsible for Ukraine bloodshed
Kiev's government and its western allies bear full responsibility for the recent bloodshed in Ukraine, Russia's presidential spokesman has said, adding it is now impossible to convince people in the region to disarm because their lives are under threat. Ref. Source 3
The way I see it this fist full of words between Russia and the USA / EU can go one of two ways:
1. It boils over after a few years and things return to normal
2. It goes back to the cold war era where everyone is on edge.
I doubt it will reach the stage of war. Economically no one can afford a war, it just weakens everyone and Russia can't afford it more than everyone else.

Russia seeks 'humanitarian corridors' in Ukraine:
Russia will submit a draft resolution to the United Nations Security Council on Monday calling for an immediate end to worsening violence in Ukraine and the creation of humanitarian corridors in the east of the country, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said. Ref. Source 5
President Barack Obama and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, spoke today on the sidelines of a luncheon held for leaders as part of D-Day commemorations in France, Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes said.
It was an informal conversation, not a formal bilateral meeting, Rhodes told reporters, adding that it lasted for 10 to 15 minutes.
The two leaders are at loggerheads over Russia's actions in Ukraine. Ref. CNN
