I was talking to my aunt this morning, and I asked her what people do at this college by her house. She said it was all study of philosophy. In one class you might talk about what a chair is. You might say it is a piece of furniture, or an object that takes up space, or even something you can use to put your jacket on. And this really got me thinking: what is a chair?

A chair is what you perceive it to be. Since perception is often driven by ones needs of the moment, I would concludes it is a solution to one of your life problems be it major or minor of the moment. |
