An infant less than 4 months old was being treated Wednesday at a Des Moines hospital for a damaged liver, several broken bones and golfball-sized swelling of the right eye.
The boyfriend of the baby's mother, Edward Elliott Roberson Jr., has been charged with two counts of child endangerment. Roberson, of 2911 Kingman Blvd., was being held in the Polk County Jail on $15,000 bond.
The liver injury to the baby, Kashawn Stewart, of 2012 S.E. King St., is a recent injury, said police Detective Larry Penland. The broken bones appeared to be older
