I have been lately only buying products that I know where made and packaged in the US. I will not buy anything if I suspect it may have been in China at all. If there is no label telling me where it came from I do not buy it.

You're sounding a bit paranoid there . It seems like it was not too long ago when there was a salmonella scare with eggs in the USA. And look at all our produce scares with e coli. You should always be careful and take precautions, but the only way to truly be 100% confident about the food you eat is to produce it all from start to finish yourself. Thank goodness we can build up immunity to some of this stuff.
I cook the heck out of all meat to kill bugs and bacteria. I do try to buy more local to support our failing farmers. I think every one should do that though.
I think China has issues that have not been dealt with for years and are now just getting headlines and are not new at all.
I watch everything that I eat. I get my eggs from a local farmer who I have known for years. I get all my beef from a friend who raises cattle. I am thinking of getting my milk now from a friend who raises dairy cattle.
Yes in some ways I am concerned about our processed foods. Who says that all these chemicals used in processing are good for us?
Big thing is along as it is only one or two he milks and sells this way it can be very controlled. As soon as you dump into those big cans you had better pasteurizing. takes so little to taint things.
