Archbishop Charles Chaput of Philadelphia laid out his views on the upcoming presidential election in stark terms in a new interview, making it clear that he can't support President Barack Obama because of his pro-abortion views and record.
"I can only speak in terms of my own personal views. I certainly can't vote for somebody who's either pro-choice or pro-abortion," he said. Ref. Source 1
Obama Camp Launches Desperate Ad as Catholic Vote Crumbles
The Obama campaign has launched a desperate new ad that it hopes will somehow turn around its poor standing with Catholic voters across the country who are turned off by the Obama administration's pro-abortion attack on religious liberty.

Judge Dismisses Suit: HHS Mandate No Threat to Religious Freedom
In a decision in one of the dozens of lawsuits the pro-abortion HHS mandate faces, a Missouri federal district court rejected a legal challenge to the Obamacare mandate brought by a small business whose owner is a Catholic. The lawsuit claimed the HHS mandate burdens their exercise of religion.
However, in a ruling issues late Friday, Judge Carol E. Jackson dismissed in its entirety the lawsuit against the mandate, saying the mandate does not constitute a substantial burden on religious freedom. Judge Jackson ruled against Frank O"Brien and O"Brien Industries and in favor of the Obama administration's motion to dismiss the lawsuit. Ref. Source 5

"Catholics for Obama" Group Claims Obama Pro-Life on Abortion
Vice President Biden's performance in the debate last Thursday confirmed our view that the entire Obama/Biden strategy of outreach to Catholic voters is a misinformation campaign. That's a nice way of saying they are lying to Catholics here, there, and everywhere.
These lies come in various forms, but the Big Lie comes in two forms: first, Biden's out-and-out denial that the HHS mandate is a violation of religious liberty, and two, that President Obama is not an opponent of the Right to Life and supporter of abortion; in fact, he is purported to be "pro-life." Obama's Next Four Years May be Worse Than the Last Four
Thomas Peters of CatholicVote puts the 2012 presidential election in perspective in a new blog post outlining 10 reasons why the next four years under President Barack Obama could be a worse setback for the pro-life cause than his first four.
Peters, whose organization endorsed Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan because of their pledge to advance pro-life values in the White House, rightly focuses on the long-term entrenchment of abortion at the Supreme Court level as the number one reason. If Obama is re-elected, it is likely he will have appointed about half or more of the members of the Supreme Court - perhaps cementing unlimited abortions for another 40 years. Ref. Source 2
Archbishop: Catholics Can't Vote for Pro-Abortion Candidates
"I do not see how a Catholic could, in conscience, vote for an individual expressing him or herself as favoring abortion." (John Cardinal O"Connor)
Performing an abortion is intrinsically evil. Legislators, executives and judges supporting or maintaining the legalization or funding of abortions, and individuals voting for a referendum that legalizes or funds abortion cooperate in an intrinsic evil. Ref. Source 6
Catholic Bishop: Vote for Obama "Stretches the Imagination"
Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio of Brooklyn is the latest Catholic official to say that voting for pro-abortion President Barack Obama is essentially off limits for Catholic voters.
He said the Catholic Church needs to do a better job of teaching Catholic voters who gravitate towards pro-abortion candidates. In his column in the diocesan newspaper, Bishop DiMarzio wrote: Ref. Source 1
