Oh please, when Bush met the same king he hugged him, kissed him and even got a medal from him and I didn't hear an uproar about it. Mind you, I don't agree with what Obama did but I feel he is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Those with a political agenda will find this opportunity perfect to tear his reputation.

Well I find it interesting that while he ran for office he kept telling people he was a christian but he gets over in Turkey and now in Saudi and he refers to himself as Muslim. I believe that bowing to Royalty as he did was very wrong and the fact he changed his religion all of a sudden shows what a turncoat he really is.

Nighthawk, I am okay if the reason of the uproar is in fact the bow in itself and not the fact that we are speaking of the king of Saudi Arabia. I am not convinced of the true nature of the criticism.

As a American who is very patriotic I am mad as hell that he bowed to a king. I care less what monarch it is it is the act itself that he is subjecting all of America under a king. As a leader he needs to understand that his actions reflects upon all of the United States.
Obama concerns me. In trying to be politically correct he also makes America look weak and him even weaker. Next thing we'll be having is Muslim holidays and five women as our brides.

Personally for me, it is not so much that it is the Saudi king -- although that is part of the problem. When he met the Queen of England he barely nodded to her, showing respect but equality.
This was a *deep* from-the-hips bow to a foreign king. This is not just showing respect, but obeisance. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
Honestly, I wonder how Obama's team of advisors told him to greet the king, and whether or not Obama followed their advice or broke from it on his own? Truly I feel there is a lot more to this than meets the eye, and certainly more than the White House is telling us. The fact that the "mainstream" media is all but ignoring this tells us a lot.
