Now that he is President of the United States of America what can we see coming from Pres. Barack Obama?

Pres. Barack Obama's Next Move - Page 21

One has to wonder about these things, here are some possible reasons that the White House PR could give for Pres. Obama's bow:

1. Someone dropped a quarter on the ground and he picked it up just before meeting the king

2. The carpet had drag and it caused him to stumble

3. The king is so short and Obama so tall that he felt the need to ensure equality by bowing to his height

4. Obama's hamstring injury during last week's basketball was acting up

President Barack Obama Pushing Abortion Hard at United Nations, Pro-Life Group Says

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- President Barack Obama has compiled a clear pro-abortion record during his short tenure as president that has raised the ire of the majority of Americans who are pro-life. However, one group that lobbies at the United Nations says Obama is pushing abortion hard in a much less obvious way. The machinations of the presidency and Congress receive significantly more media attention and Obama's promotion of abortion has been evident for the public to see. But Austin Ruse, the president of the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute, a pro-life organization that lobbies at the United Nations, says Obama is pushing abortions in ways that receive less attention but could have more far-reaching effects. "Obama's negotiators at the UN have already made aggressive pro-abortion and anti-family statements," Ruse tells LifeNews.com. "Obama's administration is gearing up to make a frightening new global attack on the unborn child." Ruse and other pro-life groups were at the United Nations just two weeks ago when 'the Obama administration made its UN debut by supporting language that has been used by UN agencies, UN committees, radical lawyers, and judges to impose abortion on reluctant countries." He said he "watched in horror as the previous pro-life positions of the United States were overturned in an instant by radical feminists representing the new Obama administration." "The US will now join the UN bureaucracy, Canada and the European Union as the most aggressive promoters of abortion all over the world," Ruse explained. "This new pro-abortion coalition will actively seek to impose abortion on all the countries of Latin America, Africa, the Far East and even on the few remaining pro-life countries in Europe." Ref. JB:

I have watched the greeting over and over again between Obama and the Saudi King and I am pretty sure I figured out what happened. I believe that the Saudi King had a teleprompter inserted in his ring and Obama was simply trying to get a better look for his next line. Not wanting to raise the King's hand to his face (as that would just be out of manner), Obama simply bent over for a better view. He didnt actually kiss the ring, but since it smudged...Obama breathed on it and cleaned the ring. It is a simple mistake anyone can make.

I believe you are right Vincenzo or at least close enough. Obama has not hit 100 days yet and already he is stirring up so much controversy. Now he comes to Trinidad (see: Source 9 ) in a day or two where he will confront the likes of Chavez, I plan to update the Threads like crazy as things happen - let's see what new can of worms opens. Will Chavez and Obama hug - Inquiring minds want to know.

President Obama gave a speech at Georgetown University but before doing it, the white house requested that all visible religious signs be covered.

QUOTE
Georgetown University hid a religious inscription representing the name of Jesus during President Obama's address there Tuesday, FOXNews.com has confirmed, because White House staff asked the school to cover up all religious symbols and signs while the president was on stage.

The monogram IHS, whose letters spell out the name of Jesus, and which normally perches above the stage in Gaston Hall where the president spoke, was covered over with what appeared to be black wood during the address.

"In coordinating the logistical arrangements for the event, Georgetown honored the White House staff's request to cover all of the Georgetown University signage and symbols behind the Gaston Hall stage," university spokesman Andy Pino told FOXNews.com.

The White House said that the backdrop, which included blue drapes and a host of American flags, was standard during policy speeches and other events.

"Decisions made about the backdrop for the speech were made to have a consistent background of American flags, which is standard for many presidential events," said White House spokesman Shin Inouye in a statement released Thursday.

Georgetown is a private Catholic institution founded by Jesuits in 1789. The auditorium where the president spoke Tuesday is adorned with religious imagery, but only the symbols directly on the stage -- those likely to be picked up by a television camera -- were obscured.

Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, accused the university of "cowardice" for acceding to the White House, and criticized Obama's team for asking a religious school to "neuter itself" before the president made his address.

"No bishop who might speak at the White House would ever request that a crucifix be displayed behind him," he said.

The White House insisted that the move was made only to provide a proper setting for the speech -- and said that "any suggestions to the contrary are simply false."

Pres. Barack Obama's Next Move

I think Obama is not doing a very good job right now. I am hoping that he can make a better presence of himself and represent the USA better this weekend at the Summit.

JB, I read about the Trini visit and wondered how that would go over. The article I read (I can't find it now) called Trini a "sleepy Caribbean town" or some such phrase, "belying its reputation for gang violence and kidnappings." It went on to say that the military presence is really high, with secret service, and soldiers from the US, Trini, and even Israel! That's a lot of firepower in Trini, no? I'll bet the traffic is a nightmare downtown smile.gif
