Now that he is President of the United States of America what can we see coming from Pres. Barack Obama?

Obama is not an economist, and so far he has shown only contempt for economic principles.

One of the huge problems that is hindering the economy is the massive regulation on the markets. Artificial price floors and ceilings cause surpluses of some things, and shortages of others. Regulation creates these floors and ceilings, whether deliberate or not. The "Law of Unintended Consequences" guarantees that more government interference in any markets, but especially in the volatile financial markets, will create further problems.

We don't need more government oversight, we need less. Consumer protection should ONLY consist of information. There is no problem with publishing information about shady dealers and possibly corrupt practices, as long as the information is correct. But government "consumer protection" agencies are not known for publishing correct information. As with any oversight groups, there are huge opportunities for corruption and misinformation.

If Obama really wanted to help the economy, he would do everything possible to reduce government involvement. China, India, Russia and other countries are reducing government interference. Why is the US increasing it?

Barack makin" stuff up

The President seems stuck in perpetual campaign mode, leaving the White House in favor of giving speeches to heavily partisan crowds who already support his plan. Which makes it doubly worse that he feels the need to make things up while on the quasi campaign trail -- like he did with a hard luck healthcare story meant to highlight the evils of our current system. Obama appears to be attempting to outdo Al Gore, who complained during a Presidential debate in 2000 that schools were so overcrowded people had to stand in class. The real reason people were standing at the school Gore mentioned was because they had hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of brand new lab equipment that was yet to be unpacked, taking up space in the classroom. Could Obama's fib be worse? You decide -- Glenn tells the story in the latest Beck Talks video blog. Ref. Source 4

SNL attacks...Obama?

It wasn't too long ago when comedians said they couldn't make fun of Obama because there wasn't anything to make fun of. Apparently that ship has sailed, because SNL this weekend took direct aim at Obama and his lack of accomplishments so far. The two big Obama successes SNL points out are 'jack' and 'squat' while mocking his failure to make good on campaign promises. Does this bit mean the left is turning on Obama or are they just trying to mock him into shoving his agenda into place? Ref. Source 2

No accomplishments, Nobel

President Barack Obama woke up with a pleasant surprise -- the news that he'd won the Nobel Peace Prize. Even those who want him to succeed in implementing his progressive policies and have complained he hasn't done any of them ( like SNL) should be perplexed by this award. If only more people could make $1.4 million dollars for their good intentions, the world would be a better place. Ref. Source 3

As US Continues Afghan, Iraq Occupations and Quashes Accountability for Gaza Assault, Critics Decry Awarding of Nobel Peace Prize to Obama

President Obama has been awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, less than nine months after taking office. The award comes despite Obama's continuation of the Iraq war and escalation of the US occupation of Afghanistan. We get reaction from author and journalist Naomi Klein and London-based author and commentator Tariq Ali. Ref. Source 2

I listened to Glenn Beck yesterday as he discussed this. As you look back over the history of the Nobel Peace Prize, you will see that it is aimed at "Progressives" or people who promote the overall socialist concept of total state control. Jimmy Carter, Jasser Arafat, Desmond Tutu, Mikhail Gorbachev, and Nelson Mandela. There have been some completely non-political, worthy recipients. Mother Teresa, the Dalai Lama, and Albert Schweitzer come to mind.

This is the biggest affirmation on the part of the Nobel committee of their total political focus at this time. Obama won on the basis of his political philosophy rather than his accomplishments.

I think any country adamant over the US and her policies would have awarded Obama for his apologetic type speeches he likes to give to foreign countries saying how wrong the US has been.
