Well, we tacked on another trillion or so to the natioinal debt with our new nanny-state healthcare program. I am expecting us to have to pay for this or at least attempt to pay for it somehow. So my fellow americans expect at new term to creep up into our lexicon...VAT or GST. All the other hip countries with socialized medicine have it and so shall we! PLUS, it is a great way to say that they really didn't increase anyone's taxes as we promised in the election. However, it really is a increase in taxes...just not income tax.

Maybe it is a good way of Pres. Obama introducing something new. If they tax all the fattening products; the hamburgers, all you can eat buffet, donuts and coffee shops then that will make sense. Pay in advance for your next heart attack. Will it stop anyone from loading up, no but at least now they're covered!

That makes no sense at all. I don't want to cover those people. I am all for covering those that are truly needy. However, I do not want to spend money to cover the clueless. What about those that can eat burgers but exercise as well...are they being represented by that plan? Well that is a great idea, why doesnt the government buy everyone suitable running shoes for the good health program. Can run? Shouldnt the government provide some sort of eliptical low impact training equipment for your home so you arent denied exercise? Maybe government supplied pools in all the homes and neighborhoods where running would be difficult!
While the government is helping dictate what food I consume, shouldnt they additionally tax things that need refrigeration? The more refrigeration...the fast global warming happens. Shouldnt the government be penalizing all purchases with the exception of government sponsored MRI's?
Since the government is so wise (great job with that clunkers for cash program...I have no doubt about government healthcare now), as they have just taken on a program that is as big as the entire economy of France, shouldnt they be steering or penalizing those that enjoy more risk laden activities and potentially those of use that watch them? Should the government add a tax to watching football? I mean, those guys are just going to be crippled later in life right? Shouldnt we pay a added value tax to watch them tear themselves up for our current enjoyment?
In all honesty, the government will be wanting you to choke on that last burger. People that die of heart attacks will be a windfall for our new government run system. Those people fall out of the pool fast with little expense, but they paid in a fortune over their lives. It is the person that gets a slow killing cancer or alzheimers that is the drain on the system. Oh yeah, the government will economically celebrate the heart attack death.
Insurance is paying for your heat attack in advance. This is just paying the newly minted government utilities (former insurance companies) even more for the same priveledge.
Cant wait for us to join the EU as there is so little left for us to hold out for now!

Environmental Groups Decry Obama Plan to Lift Moratorium on Offshore Drilling
Environmental groups are denouncing President Obama's controversial new plan to open up large swaths of the Atlantic, Gulf and Alaskan coasts to offshore oil and gas drilling. On Wednesday, the Obama administration said it would lift a longstanding moratorium on oil drilling along the East Coast from Delaware to the central coast of Florida. New areas of the southeast Gulf Coast will also be open to drilling, as will the Arctic Ocean north of Alaska. We speak to Brendan Cummings of the Center for Biological Diversity, which helped stall the original 2007-2012 offshore oil drilling plan under the Bush administration. Ref. Source 2
Attorney in Wiretapping Case Says Obama Admin as Bad or Worse than Bush on State Secrets
A federal judge ruled last week that the National Security Agency's warrantless surveillance program was illegal and in violation of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Both the Bush and Obama administrations had tried to dismiss the suit, claiming a trial could result in the release of state secrets. The ruling marks the strongest legal repudiation to date of the Bush administration's spy program since it was first publicly revealed in 2005. We speak with attorney Steven Goldberg, who represents the Islamic charity Al-Haramain in the case. Ref. Source 3
Proof: Obama is a socialist
Glenn Beck
President Obama complained that people calling him a socialist had nothing to back it up. Here is a list of policies, connections and statements that clearly demonstrate what some would constitute as a 'pattern' of socialist tendencies. It's by no means complete, it's just the beginning. Remember all the flack President Bush got for golfing? He golfed 24 times in office, the last being in 2003, stopping out of respect for the troops. President Obama has tee'd it up 32 times so far, so does he get a pass because he didn't start the war or something? What was the reaction when Obama skipped the funeral for Poland's president in favor of golf? Pat has the answer on the 4th hour! Insider Extreme members can watch the full 4th hour: Source 4
