Obama: 'You think we are stupid?'

Don't answer that. Obama was caught on tape saying what he actually thought about the budget negotiations: "I said you want to repeal health care? Go at it. We'll have that debate. You're not going to be able to do that by nickel-and-diming me in the budget. You think we're stupid?" Ref. Source 1

While 4 trillion to the deficit seems like a lot...it is the deficit and not the debt. Since the deficit is about 1.6 trillion per year right now, I am assuming he is talking total and not a yearly 4 trillion cut or he would be boasting about a surplus. So even if we follow this plan, the debt still balloons up to just shy of 30 trillion dollars. The part that they don't discuss too much is that they are depending on the interest rates to remain low for the next 12 years in order to do all that. They been low for a really long time now...cannot imagine they stay low for another 12 years.

I have no idea how in the last three years we went from about a .5 trillion deficit to over 1 trillion yearly, but whatever we spent the money on 3 yrs ago, we got along fine without for quite a while. If we don't start talking about debt reduction istead of deficit reduction, interest will win in the end and the US will default.

Obama's most spectacular flip flop to date

President Obama said very clearly during the campaign that he would not use signing statements to subvert the authority of Congress. Now he's used a signing statement in order to ignore the Czar portion agreed to in the budget. Glenn plays the audio on radio today of 2008 President Obama vs. The White House's amazing statement, which almost seems as if they just hoped no one would bother to look into the matter. Fortunately, the press caught on to this one - Glenn has the audio of the blatant flip flop and a full analysis on radio today. Ref. Source 9

Osama bounce = 3 points?

A new poll suggests that the trash talk from the left that Obama will be unbeatable after killing bin Laden was premature -- crediting The President with only a 3 point bounce. Glenn immediately predicted the bounce would be short lived and it was. People are glad bin Laden is dead, but that doesn't negate the economic struggles millions of Americans are facing. Ref. Beck is right. People were not unhappy because Bin Laden was alive. They were unhappy because they are out of work, inflation is eating into their buying power and the ever looming cloud of government debt that they will eventually have to shoulder.

Obama: what's all the fuss about the border?

Poll: 38 Percent of Americans Won't Vote for Obama in 2012

A new Politico-George Washington University poll finds 38 percent of Americans say they will definitely not vote for President Barack Obama when he seeks re-election in 2012 against one of several Republicans.

The poll is good news for pro-life advocates looking to replace the man who has become perhaps the most pro-abortion president in history, but the 38 percent figure is still 12 percent short of getting a majority of the nation to agree to replacing Obama next year. Still, some of the numbers in the poll suggest voters leaning against Obama or in the undecided category may ultimately vote against him because they are upset with the job he's done, or not done, as president.

The survey found sixty percent (60%) of voters believe the country is on the wrong track, including a strong majority of Independents (61%) who hold this negative view of how things are going in the country.

Although Obama received a bump from the killing of terrorist mastermind Osama bin Ladin, voters appear to remain focused on economic and personal finance issues as the economy and jobs (28%) and government spending and the budget deficit (20%) were named as the top issues for the 2012 election. Though Obama's job approval rating has received an expected bump to majority support (52%), strong majorities of voters disapprove of his job performance on the economy and jobs (57% disapprove) and on the federal budget and spending (61%). Obama enjoys only a four point advantage over Congressional Republicans on jobs (47%-43%) while Congressional Republicans enjoy a three point advantage over President Obama on controlling the deficit (47%-44%), the poll indicates.
