Obama Speech: One step closer to the end of capitalism?

Glenn warned that the masks would be coming off and that politicians would start admitting their communists and socialist leanings - and that's pretty much what happened during Barack Obama's speech last night. Glenn said that Barack Obama had "upped the ante", and it might not be long until he just admits capitalism "doesn't work". What are you supposed to do to fight a plan a hundred years in the making? Ref. Source 4

Obama Approval Stuck at 43%, Tanks With Independent Voters

The number one goal for the pro-life movement in the United States in 2012 is defeating pro-abortion President Barack Obama, and a new Gallup survey shows his support continues to remain at steady low levels.

Obama's job approval rating averaged 43% last week according to the new Gallup poll - identical to his rating each week since late October. Obama remained in the low 50s for much of August and September in terms of his disapproval rating but that has dropped slightly to 48-49 percent in the most recent Gallup surveys.

Still, with more Americans continuing to disapprove than approve of the president's job performance, the numbers show the pro-life movement has a strong opportunity next year to defeat Obama and to, once again, give unborn children a president who may shape the Supreme Court in a way that they could finally enjoy legal protection.

Gallup's analysis of its survey indicated that Obama's weekly average approval rating remains depressed relative to the 45% to 50% readings seen for much of the first half of 2011.

"His rating had previously dropped to 43% in April before rebounding in early May, to 51%, on the news that American forces had killed Osama bin Laden. His weekly approval rating remained high throughout May, but then gradually decreased in June and July before first reaching his term low of 40% in August," Gallup notes. Ref. Source 1

Pres. Barack Obama's Next Move History & Civil Business Politics

President Barack Obama's approval rating jumped 5 percentage points from November to December, fueled by dramatic gains among middle-class Americans, according to a CNN/ORC International poll released Tuesday.

Obama's approval rating rose from 44% last month to 49% now, and the results suggest the debate over extending the payroll tax cuts in Congress is helping Obama's efforts to portray himself as defender of the middle class. The poll was conducted from Friday through Sunday, while the Senate was passing the measure with bipartisan support and House Speaker John Boehner was giving it a dim outlook in his chamber.

Obama's gains appear to have come at the expense of congressional Republicans and the GOP in general -- the party's overall rating has dropped 6 points, to 43%, since June while Democrats" rating has stayed at 55%.

And a majority now say they have more confidence in Obama than in Republicans in Congress -- last spring, only 44% felt that way.

Democrats do particularly well among middle-income Americans, while the Republicans win support only from the top end of the income scale. Ref. CNN

President Barack Obama now holds a lead over potential Republican presidential rivals in a CNN/ORC International Poll released Tuesday.

If the election were held today, Obama would have a 52%-45% advantage over former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Texas Rep. Ron Paul. The incumbent would have a double-digit lead over former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann and Texas Gov. Rick Perry, the poll suggests.

A similar poll last month found Obama trailing Romney, but the margin was within the poll's sampling error, which is considered a statistical tie.

The poll is not a prediction that Obama will win in November; polls taken this many months before an election do not have predictive value. Ref. CNN

Obama's distorted view of American history

President Barack Obama gave quite an interesting snapshot into his ideology yesterday when he talked about America and what he believes it was founded on. WARNING: Get out several rolls of duct tape and wrap it tightly around your head before listening to this clip from Obama. If you fail to do so and your head explodes -- don't say we didn't warn ya. Michelle Obama apparently wasn't kidding when she said Barack was going to 'change history' --- he's certainly trying! Ref. Source 9

Pres. Barack Obama's Next Move

Eight in 10 Americans continue to believe the economy is in poor shape, and just less than half think President Barack Obama is doing a good job, according to the latest CNN/ORC International Poll.

The poll showed a dramatic drop in those who said economic conditions are "very poor" -- from 51% in November to 38% today. But most of those people switched their assessment from "very poor" to "somewhat poor."

Meanwhile, Obama's approval rating was largely unchanged since mid-December, with 47% now approving of how Obama is handling his job, compared with 49% a month ago. Ref. CNN

Everyone needs to now watch out for claims (both sides) of ficticious cost reductions or debt reductions. Programs that were going to end any way will be billed as a cost reduction initiative. The fact is that they were already planned for expiration and thus were already out of the budget. There is going to be a lot of ficticious account of cost reductions that actually don't reduce anything. We need to be vigilant and hold all these representatives accountable for reducing the actual debt and not just continue to play Erron games with our future.

The Obama administration rejected a bid to expand the Keystone XL oil sands pipeline.

President Obama said in a written statement the denial "is not a judgment on the merits of the pipeline, but the arbitrary nature of a deadline (set by Congress) that prevented the State Department from gathering the information necessary to approve the project and protect the American people."

The pipeline may not be dead. A State Department memo said "the department's denial of the permit application does not preclude any subsequent permit application."

"This is not the end of the fight," said House Speaker John Boehner, adding that the pipeline was "good for the American people, especially those who are looking for work." Ref. CNN
