Is America ever going to wise up and vote for someone beside the Dems and Republicans or are we always going to face a two party decision at each election?

We need an independent party. The dems and reps are the left and right wing of the same bird. I believe Buchanan said that.

No, America is too busy watching CSI, WWF matches, swilling beer, and playing Spore. Children and young adults are discouraged from independent thinking in schools and colleges, and parrot for the rest of their lives whatever liberal socialist agenda is taught by rote ("Guns? You don't need guns! Guns are dangerous! Your *government* will keep you safe! Here, have a tax rebate."). The so-called media is spoon-feeding the masses entertainment packaged as "news," served up by plastic-surgery altered men and women whose main qualifications to "report" the "news" is that they can read a teleprompter effectively.

When/if the American People ever wake up to the fact that they are being duped on such a grand scale...? Will they have enough patriotism left to stage a revolution?

I doubt it. Mostly because they are afraid of losing all their toys.

Ross Perot was about as close as we will get. The left and right are good at feeling the changes in wind and slightly modifying their platforms to placate the general populous. Perot was heavily for reducing the debt and even suggested a gas tax as being about the most fair tax to levy to reduce the debt. Both sides immediately said...NO WAY...but just after Bill Clinton got into office and enacted the "Dont ask Dont tell policy", his second order was a increase in gas tax. Perot got about 20% of the vote and that was huge! Basically, anything good that a 3rd party will come up with, will be absorbed by one of the other parties.

Not much has changed in 16 years of even Republican or Democrat control...

Now I am assuming that we are talking about presidential elections because there are a few (VERY FEW) independents that have won lesser elections. I actually enjoy listening to Jesse Ventura talk about governing. He was a much better governor that I thought he would be.

It would be nice to see most of america wake up and actually smell the coffee for a change but I doubt that it will happen anytime soon. Maybe if one of these jokes running for president does something really bone headed will most of america wake up.
