I couldn't agree more. The less selfish you are in your marriage the easier you'll get along in about most everything. When you put yourself first that's when it get's real difficult. My wife and I have this worked out and it makes our marriage work without any unnecessary hassels because we understand each other.

I agree mostly with Elder Oaks comments, especially that we should be best friends, working together, and supporting each other. I believe marriages end in divorce because both party's were selfish, some need was being ignored. I don't feel marriages in most cases, are just one parties fault. You should try to work your problems out, however, if covenants are broken, I believe divorce is a viable option.

Forgiveness is, of course, another viable option. Divorce is a viable option. I would need to consider all possible options when serious covenants have been violated. I would have to seriously consider the matter, pray and fast, in order to make the best decision for our family. I hope and pray I never have to worry about this matter. I have several friends, however, who have. The chastity covenant was broken, and most of them have stayed together and gone to church counseling services. However, because trust was violated, it has been difficult for them to regain their spouse's trust. I don't know if it can fully be regained when someone has betrayed you. It would be very difficult to forgive something so personal, but I know it can be overcome as I have seen friends and some family members go through this process.

We read that the children of Israel were nagging Moses for divorces to take place, this is not how god intended it I think this is still not what he wants. I think only in the extreme cases should divorce be even considered.
