When are the sheeple going to learn that these bailouts are just for the rich and have nothing to do with the average person. What happens when we bail out the car industry and they go to congress again next year asking for another bail out? Are we going to just keep feeding these rich CEO more and more money?
The industry has to stand up and do whats right by making a car affordable by dropping some bells and whistles while keeping it large enough for suit cases and a family of 4. They have made them in the past and if they stood up to what powers that tell them not to they will prosper. After all they have made a society that already considers it a necessity to own one as no one lives near their work any more and to walk more then ten minutes is unacceptable.
I hope his plan will force the new technology to be used as well as technology that has been shelved and never used yet. His statement gives hope that they are not going to allow the big 3 to just walk in and keep feeding at the trough with no accountability.
GM has been due to changes for a long time as it has competed against its own product line for years. Even Chrysler dropped the competition between the Dodge and Chrysler branding years ago. Their big fault of late is tying so much into the Minivan and Dakota lines.
Will any true changes occur with the GM being fired? I hope at least the next GM will keep this in mind and try to be more inovative in their thinking. Perhaps some of the one in the next level of management should be held for accountability also.

WASHINGTON - The U.S. House approved a bill Wednesday to lend up to $14 billion to the three struggling U.S. automakers, General Motors, Ford Motor and Chrysler. Introduced by Democrats, the bill is nearly identical to one pending in the Senate, where Republican opposition was making its chances for passage look uncertain.
