I am glad that they did not pass this. I feel that the federal government did not bail out the airline industry so why should they bail out the auto industry. If they did I feel the line of businesses would be very long as they got in line for bail out money.

Chrysler just announced that they are closing their manufacturing doors for a month. Not sure what that will do, if it's to shock the Senate into looking their way, but that's what they say they will do.

Up my way the Ford plat is looking at 3 weeks to 6 to start GM is talking about April start up. Chrysler is going 4 weeks I think they said on the radio.

I know all the auto manufactures close plants down for three weeks durning the holidays and beginning of new year as a way for their employees to spend time with their families. I am not sure if this is a paid leave or not. I am sure that some will use this time as paid vacation time. I do hope that congress and the white house do not think they are closing shop and offer them a buy out package. I think they should be allowed to fail after the CEO ran them into the ground.

Even though I disagree with it I hope the Auto makers do something worth while with this loan. I am glad that it is a loan and not a free hand out. I still think they should have been allowed to fail.
