One has to ponder why the police did not conduct the search properly and assume the father was telling the truth and investigate the two leads at once. I hope this kind of over sight will not occur again but we all know it will.

This kind of thing happens all too much. The police need to follow up on all leads before jumping on the belief that the parents did it. I believe many other cases would be solved if this happened. Too many innocent parents are being blamed for things they did not do. Granted we have a lot of sick parents that do this but not all of them are like this.
