James Allen

The best author's works I have ever read outside of the scriptures are those by James Allen, a largely unknown author, but his pieces are magnificent! If you have not read 'As A Man Thinketh' then you are missing one of the biggest inspirational gulfs of wisdom you can ever see on paper. I have read it a number of times. Careful reading and consideration will lead to a direct change in your life, and if you agree, you can return here and place your confirmation.

I do not know any other author (again, save for the scriptures) who would first, try something, test it, and if it was good, write about it because he applied it in his own life. Here is some about him:

James Allen is a literary mystery man. His inspirational writings have influenced millions for good. Yet today he remains almost unknown. None of his nineteen books give a clue to his life other than to mention his place of residence - Ilfracombe, England. His name cannot be found in a major reference work. Not even the Library of Congress or the British Museum has much to say about him. Who was this man who believed in the power of thought to bring fame, fortune and happiness? Or did he, as Henry David Thoreau says, 'hear a different drummer'?

I discovered "As a Man Thinketh" a little over two years ago. I really do love the book. It started me into a fairly extensive personal study project, comparing many views on the power of thought. James Allen was truly inspired in some of the points he made in that book. I would love to acquire more of his writings.

Thanks to JB I have finally read "As a Man Thinketh.". I am glad I did so thanks JB.

It is profound yet very basic concepts that are conveyed if you suffer from any of this issues you will be thinking differently by its end. I am reading consistently right now as It is a great grounding tool for me as I am working on my self improvement. I can read it and the bible then I have no escape but to admit my failing and work through it. Not sure if I should say read it as it is a must for any man or run fast from it.

It took me a long time to read the book my first try considering how small it was. I am telling every one give it a read and pass it on to your teens!

I am glad you enjoyed it and that it is working for you. I read it over and over, sometimes when I feel at my worst I pick it up and feel as though it were written for me. James Allen is a blessed man for this piece and surely his works continues to touch the eyes, hearts and will of many.

That is just it you read it and it hits your silliness head on the says OK so now go back and do this and all will be better, but make sure you do it.
