A 60-year-old Australian woman is sentenced to two years of periodic detention for killing her partner in a euthanasia case.

The difference that sets this case apart, is the fact that the woman believed she was doing the right thing by her partner, but her partner didn't have the ability to say that's what he wanted. If he had been able to clarify that he definitely thought his life should be assisted to be finishes, I think the court would have given a different outcome. As it stood, the man's daughter's have accused the woman of cheating them of being able to say goodbye to their Father.
This is a very 'sticky' area, as different people are going to hold different opinions, and the man himself, couldn't speak out.
Either way, it's very sad.
