You are right rival when asking question on religion or politics emotions run fast and hard. You are asking some great questions though.

Thanks I like that you like the questions I ask. I hope to cover more areas as I get accustomed to this site.

Greetings, revival. Welcome to the Forum.

I understand your stated position of asking questions to learn things; however, I also recognize your tactics of "stirring up" emotions -- you aren't the first visitor here to do so and it's a familiar pattern. Personally, I will wait to see what is revealed of you over time.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to read your posts and responses to others.

Best wishes,
Roz

QUOTE (revival @ 17-Nov 08, 3:08 PM)
I'm most interested in cultures and religions. This is why I joined this site.

I am curious, you said upon joining that you are interested in cultures and religions, and yet since joining all of your questions and posts have been aimed soley at the LDS Church. Either you are extremely interested in LDS Culture or you were misleading in your introductory statement. There are many different topics on this forum addressing many religions and cultures and yet you seem to have such a narrow scope of interest. It seems to me that if one were truly interested in open theological discussion and learning about other cultures and religions they would broaden their horizons rather than focusing on just one religion.

Introduction Revival

I think it's fair enough to ask only LDS questions...providing it's kept nice, and without any nastiness, and so far Revival seems to have kept it this way.

Apart from anything else, I think that the questions have been interesting, and I for one have been enjoying these topics. At least the answers have now been put on the forum for the future for anybody else who may come here seeking answers.

I guess there are still some areas where missionaries have not accessed, and this may lead to people having an interest, but no answers, and is giving members on this forum a chance to read, share and participate in something that is important.

Revival Introduction

There is such a contrast in the opinions here. Some are happy for my questions others are not. I take it the ones that are not are Mormon? Had my questions been directed to the Hindus, Muslims or some other group I might of been priased.

I ask questions. If people choose to get emotional about it then that is a decision they take.

I am also surprised that I must take a certain approach to my questions. It seems some are saying that I am asking too many questions and that I should go to other topics. Is this a site of communists?

No it is not. I think our LDS Members feel that you are asking questions as a means to make a point and not for the sake of information. To your credit though, you are breaking no rule by asking questions and I think our LDS Members here just need to learn to defend and rebuttal the argument / debate without attacking the person. Some are new to the Art of Discussion so you will have to excuse this.

If it was my referring you to a new thread that was to start two different discussions one that was strictly adhering to Mormon issue the other any christian based church. I can be vague at times so if that created confusion then I do apologize.

Do look about the rest of the boards though as I think you could add some good information and ideas.
