Nature of Allah

As a Muslim, how would you describe the nature and being of Allah? If you are not Muslim you may also share what you do know of Allah.

Allah Nature

I cannot claim that I have studied the Nature of Allah intensively, but what little I have come to learn indicates that he is very much a God of family and togetherness. He will not accept vice in any form or way and will immediately attack the enemies of Islam when given opportunity to do so. He is very jealous, visiting and bringing destruction on those who do not follow his commands (very similar to the God of the Old Testament Bible). Lastly, one must pay for every evil act done in this life with the good works being recompensed with rewards.

Here is a site that tells you the 99 names of Allah.

https://www.iberr.org/names/aladl.htm
He has many more names, but these are the ones known to us.
They each describe his nature.
I don't completely agree with JB, in that he does not immediately attack enemies of Islam. It's just that whoever does wrong, will be punished, and whoever does good, will be rewarded. And if one does wrong and repents, and doesn't do it again, he or she is forgiven. I don't see God as jealous at all..in what way do you mean this?
Also, I wanted to make it clear that Allah is just God in arabic. It's not like some cool name muslims made up to express a different god. We believe there is only one God. If you speak to Arab christians, they will say "Allah" often. Or if you read the Bible in Arabic, it will say Allah.
peace.

By this I mean, you can worship Allah and at the same time worship other things such as money, things, etc. Also, I appreciate your insight, but you should give references to your words such as verses from the Quran or quote from a Cleric / Imam, etc. In this Community, if you only give your point of view then is considered just opinion and you will have to add that to your text; "In my opinion...".

In my opinion this is a poor way to phrase this, for one, Allah IS God/G-d. To claim a God is a misnomer to begin with, since He is the one and only.

You state, He will not accept vice... and in the same sentence mention attacking those who are enemies of Islam.

First, Allah will allow whatever you wish to do, insha'Allah. However you will have to answer for all that you do. Will attack.... Allah, has no need to "wait for opportunity" Since He is the best of planners, and He is All powerful.

QUOTE
He is very jealous,

a'uthobillahi! Allah is As-Samad, He is not jealous, to be jealous is to be envious, envy is a sin, and is furthermore unattributtable to Allah.

QUOTE

That would be because He IS the God of the Old Testament.

QUOTE

This doesn't fit in with a description of Allah, but inclines more towards one of the tenets of Faith in Islam.

Message Edited!
JB@Trinidad: It was very hard to follow what you were saying until I realized you were in fact quoting me and then answering. Please learn how to use the quote / offtopic tags. Thanks

According to the Old Testament the use of the word 'jealous' is used to represent God's displeasure at seeing His children turn to others or other things instead of worship Him. If the Quran does not use the word 'jealous' it will use another word for this characteristic, even if is as simple as 'anger'. Surely even Allah does not like his Children to turn away from Him, what is the word used to describe that displeasure.

What are you talking about? To claim a God? Please explain as well as use references or the words "in my opinion"...

Hehe sorry that was my first post. I'm still learning here.

Ok, I believe I did say in my opinion. For the second part.

As to the first part.
You ask what the Qur'an establishes inasmuch as when we fail to follow what Allah has ordained for us, as humans, which is full submission to Him.
QUOTE

But those who disobey Allah and His Messenger and transgress His limits will be admitted to a Fire, to abide therein: And they shall have a humiliating punishment.
(  ÓæÑÉ ÇáäÓÇÁ  , An-Nisa:14, Chapter #4, Verse #14)

QUOTE
They will swear unto you, that ye may be pleased with them but if ye are pleased with them, Allah is not pleased with those who disobey.
(  ÓæÑÉ ÇáæÈÉ  , At-Taubah:96, Chapter #9, Verse #96)

QUOTE
Say: "I would, if I disobeyed my Lord, indeed have fear of the Penalty of a Mighty Day."
(  ÓæÑÉ ÇáÒãÑ  , Az-Zumar:13, Chapter #39, Verse #13)

QUOTE
Say: "No one can deliver me from Allah (If I were to disobey Him), nor should I find refuge except in Him,
(  ÓæÑÉ ÇáÌä  , Al-Jinn:22, Chapter #72, Verse #22)
