I think if we were more frank about sex, then we wouldn't be top in the world for this thing. |
I mean by addressing sexual issues more openly. Perhaps people in trinidad search for porn a lot since they feel sexually repressed by society.
Why is it that less conservative and more liberal societies scored lower in the table than Trinidad did? Maybe after a while, people become desensitised to sexual imagery over time, or at least are freer to talk about sexual issues more openly.

I don't think Trinidad is that sexually open a society. sexual abuse and promiscuity doesn't necessarily equate with sexual openness, or being frank in society about sex. Sexual abuse occurs in places like Iran or Saudi Arabia. are they sexually open?
and patriotism makes no sense; no one chooses to be born in a country. One should be proud of his/her accomplishments.
You know that is the number one reason I do not respond to your Threads, your perspective of things in my opinion is so narrow that you only see the meaning of a couple of words and not the bigger picture. My point in bringing up what I did is that as a people sexuality of any kind - open, closed, gay, hetero, or whatever makes no difference, we NEED to focus on things that matter. The fact that so many use the net to browse porn rather than other things shows intent and focus. We do not have to open a sex forum to convince you Trinis are open to talk about sex, because in their minds they are talking sex constantly. Their body movements, eyes and tone are sexually generated. Why else would Hermosa (another Thread) feel men here are hungry. If Trinis are so sexually closed according to you then we would be more like the Middle East. There would be no Carnival, fetes, soca and hundreds of single mothers having one child after the next.
I'd define sexual openness as society openly talking about sexual issues, problems and feelings and in Trinidad people don't do that.
Trinidad has a relatively high HIV/AIDS rate, so how then are people sexually tuned in? What outlets are there for persons to seek sexual advice or counsel? From "de partners on de block"? in 2003, trinidad's HIV/AIDS rate was 33rd in the world, and only below the African countries with high AIDS rates. Clearly then, more education is needed.
There's a popular radio show on 102fm during the week hosted by Dr. Ramnanan. Have you heard it before? If anything, his show is as popular as it is since it's often the first opportunity that persons in Trinidad get to hear a good grounding in sexual topics, matters, issues and techniques.

Comments: Its amazing how we put so much stock in what the world thinks is right. What basis did Google use to conduct this research and who are we to judge what others do in their spare time. And to top it off instead of watching porn you all believe that we should indulge in the acts, I think not.
