Those Who Made The Constitution
Consider the following quote and give your thoughts on it:
"The convention which framed the Constitution of the United States was composed of fifty-five members. A majority were lawyers not one farmer, mechanic or laborer. Forty owned Revolutionary Scrip. Fourteen were land speculators. Twenty-four were money-lenders. Eleven were merchants. Fifteen were slave-holders. They made a Constitution to protect the rights of property and not the rights of man"
-- Senator Richard Pettigrew - Triumphant Plutocracy (1922)
I believe that our forefathers here in the US were looking into the future. They created the US Constitution to protect both property and men. This one piece of paper with writing upon it is one of the most thought out and planned document that was written. The fact that it was written over 200 years ago and still holds true today is proof of that forethought.
