Sources close to the fighters say that a rematch between Urijah Faber and Jens Pulver is basically a done deal for WEC 38, but deep down in our hearts, do we really want to see that fight?

Firstly, Jens Pulver is hella washed up. Not only was he picked apart by Urijah Faber at WEC 34, Pulver was knocked the f*** out by Leonard Garcia at WEC 36. I'm telling you, as good as he was, Pulver is done. D-O-N-E.

In addition, Faber-Pulver II carries no title implications. Urijah Faber himself was dethroned by Mike Brown at WEC 36, and while his future is hardly in jeopardy, he will most likely give Pulver an even worse beatdown than the one he gave him in June.

The fight would be of some consequence if Pulver still had it, because the winner would almost immediately put himself back in contention for the WEC featherweight title, but that is not the case.

Although the article from MMA Weekly via SI.com says that the Faber-Pulver rematch was made due to negotiations between Urijah Faber and Jose Aldo falling through, the fact that a fight with a much recycled flavor has been made indicates that MMA promotions need to start working together or else fans will be bored of being fed stale bread.
