India Woman Complains of Forced Abortion After Rushed Medical Decision
Lucknow, IndiaC (LifeNews.com) -- A woman in India is complaining of a forced abortion after officials at a hospital did an abortion on her after a rushed scene in which she signed medical papers she didn't fully have a chance to read. The woman and her husband have filed a complaint against the hospital and its staff. The incident involves Uma Pandey, a resident of Rajendra Nagar, who was admitted to the Veerangana Avanti Bai (Dufferin) Women's Hospital. Uma's husband Jeevan told the Times of India that Uma was in the latter stages of pregnancy when she was admitted to the hospital on Monday morning. Uma was reportedly feeling ill and, by Tuesday afternoon, the newspaper indicates she was bleeding heavily. Moments after medical personnel determined she had significant problems, they rushed her to an operating room and had Uma's husband hastily sign medical papers on the way.
