I curse from time to time in frustration but I don't make a practice of it. A lot of people my age pepper it all through their conversation. It's becoming more accepted in general society. I view excessive use of it as having a lack of vocabulary. I've known some people that can't complete a sentence without dropping the f bomb. That's a pet peeve of mine. People cursing in front of children bothers me also. It's disrespectful to the parents and their children. I know some people curse in front of their children but one should never assume that everyone so.
I have to agree with both KN and Kyrroeth here. First, it's probably the fact that people were swearing that made them stronger, it probably the effects swearing brings out in us. Like the adrenaline rush that comes with it. I'm know there are other ways to bring out those effects and probably better ways to do so. Second, swearing has become endemic in our society. You hear it all over the malls and in so many other public places. It's another indication that we aren't teaching manners any longer. Manners are important because they are one of the threads that keeps society together. When I hear people cursing if I'm with my youngest one I ask them to knock it off, usually they do. But if they thought about it, they wouldn't have started in the first place.
