Are we talking about the blessing that we receive by the power and authority of the Priesthood?
Such blessings that are sealed with the holy spirit and promise will have the same effect after this life as they do here.
Priesthood Blessings are the key by which through the word man can bring forth action. As Jesus can tell the mountains to move and the seas to dry up, we may, if we are faithful have that same power. In fact we have that power, though most of us, including myself lack the faith to do this. But Blessings can bring to pass miracles, many of which I have seen in my own life.
But in my opinion Blessings are received in similar ways in the next life as in this one.

Doctrine and Covenants 124:13 Let him, therefore, hearken to your counsel, and I will bless him with a multiplicity of blessings; let him be faithful and true in all things from henceforth, and he shall be great in mine eyes |
QUOTE |
D&C 82: 10 10 I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise. |
The blessings that we receive include all that the father hath.
Section 76 lays out the blessings we may receive if we are faithful in all things, and is a significant explanation of future blessings.

53 And who overcome by faith, and are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, which the Father sheds forth upon all those who are just and true. Â 54 They are they who are the church of the Firstborn. Â 55 They are they into whose hands the Father has given all things- Â 56 They are they who are priests and kings, who have received of his fulness, and of his glory; Â 57 And are priests of the Most High, after the order of Melchizedek, which was after the order of Enoch, which was after the order of the Only Begotten Son. Â 58 Wherefore, as it is written, they are gods, even the sons of God- Â 59 Wherefore, aall things are theirs, whether life or death, or things present, or things to come, all are theirs and they are Christ's, and Christ is God's. Â 60 And they shall overcome all things. Â 61 Wherefore, let no man glory in man, but rather let him glory in God, who shall subdue all enemies under his feet. Â 62 These shall dwell in the presence of God and his Christ forever and ever. Â 63 These are they whom he shall bring with him, when he shall come in the clouds of heaven to reign on the earth over his people. Â 64 These are they who shall have part in the first resurrection. Â 65 These are they who shall come forth in the resurrection of the just. Â 66 These are they who are come unto Mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly place, the holiest of all. Â 67 These are they who have come to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of Enoch, and of the Firstborn. Â 68 These are they whose names are written in heaven, where God and Christ are the judge of all. Â 69 These are they who are just men made perfect through Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, who wrought out this perfect atonement through the shedding of his own blood. Â 70 These are they whose bodies are celestial, whose glory is that of the sun, even the glory of God, the highest of all, whose glory the sun of the firmament is written of as being typical. |
