I lived on county north of the dry county below us. Right at the border were 4 liquor stores. Each of them had prices that were pretty high, but yet they all stayed in business. The last one before the border (and they were all about 500 yards from each other) mentioned that it was your last chance at buying alcohol for 99 miles. Guess who doesnt shop there? Yeah, all of us that live in the county were you can buy it many places don't pay the elevated prices there. All the sales are for the people living in the dry county. They even had drive thru service at one place.
Now you just know that there are people on Saturday and Sunday that are at home watching the game and they run out of beer. Now they get to go blazing down the highway to the county line to get that beer. Oh...I am sure they arent drunk! Yeah...right. It is so much better than them being able to go to the local convience store and get their beer.
If you want to stop it you need to educate the kids and limit advertising. Once we are adults, it is quite a bit harder to change our habits.
One doctor does not equal doctors, yes it is a worry but I thunk the media are latching on to a sensational sounding story to try and seel more papers.
A problem yes, blown out of proportion to sell media products yes as well.
