What? So he got kicked out of his country for that?

And JB, responding to your previous reply, he is human just like everyone else and everyone should be treated equally. Bush shouldn't get any special treatment. I'm not condoning what this guy did. It was pretty stupid of him, but it wasn't very dangerous to anyone. No one would have gotten seriously hurt by this rude action.

Daria, sometimes your answers surprise me.

It was highly dangerous because it gives a new precedent on what can be done by someone in a security situation. If you were the security chief over the safety of those concerned then you will look really bad. If you are a terrorist looking on then you may have new ideas. Now visiting officials will probably have new guidelines with journalists so many yards away from the VIPs.

Additionally, my comment is justified, because to every action there is a consequence. What did he think, he was going to do this and then go to the local cafe and have something hot to drink and read the newspaper?

(laugh), no. Maybe a light jail sentence, a fine, or something, but being kicked out of his country?

Well look at it this way, there are people who are glad that Bush took out Saddam. As a journalist, you have made the ultimate NATIONAL insult to a visiting liberator (whether you see him as a liberator or not), so for the country of his birth it an insult of major proportions, one worthy of a loss of citizenship. Actually, it is better for him, this way he will not be hunted down or accidentally found dead by his fellow 'brothers'.

CNN was just saying that one of the shoes used against Pres. Bush is now on display in Northern Iraq. Apparently some orphans from an orphanage got together and made a monument for it hailing the journalist Al-zaidi as a hero.

It is good to think of this guy as a small hero for throwing his shoe at the US president. I know there have been more than a few times I wanted to throw something at that president.

You think so KNtoran? I think it is very disrespectful to the extreme and an embarrassment to the country. Then again, I'm sure in their eyes they see Bush like a Hitler so I can understand their rage, but not the demonstration of it.
